  1. Dear Sirs,

I am speaking here on behalf of the unionist sahraouis in the Western Sahara region. I want you please to pay attention to the fact that we represent the majority in the region and that Polisario Front has never represented us. The unionist sahraouis are represented in the CORCAS body composed of 141 members representing Western Sahara tribes. The unionist sahraouis are willing a happy end to the running conflict. The autonomy proposal seems to be a very good initiative to talk on the future of the Western Sahara region. We want to move forward. We want to join our families peacefully in the Western Sahara region. The region has been developed by ourselves. We already represent our interests in the moroccan parliament and we already deal with our local affairs. The autonomy initiative is the best occasion to join the unionists and the separatists on the same challenge to face globalization and terrorism and reinforce our position in the world. We don't need a corrupt state. The separatists has to admit they were wrong on claiming independence. They have to play the game of democracy and transparency to deal with the local affairs. WE ALL NEED AUTONOMY UNDER THE GOVERNORSHIP OF A STABLE AND A GREAT NATION. THE LEBANON/SYRIAN MODEL IS OBSOLETE. WE DON'T WANT IT. WE WANT SUSTAINABLE PEACE.

I ask you please to take into account the will of the unionist sahraouis who represent the majority in the region.

    Thanks

    Ahmed Salem Amr Khaddad
    Unionist Western Sahrawi

  2. Hello Ahmed,

Thank you for leaving a comment on our blog. We would like to respond to your suggestions and claims by emphasising our belief in the Saharawi right for freedom of self-expression. We do not specifically support any political party but our work is in support of the people, the Saharawi. Not to enter too much of a political argument on a forum like this, but we believe, a democratic process like the referendum that includes the autonomy option should be implemented to allow the will of the people to be expressed and known.

    Thanks,
    Cathrin (Sandblast)
